WISBECH

The town is steeped in history and is definitely worth exploring - the architecture of the Georgian South Bank and The Crescent, The Octavia Hill Birthplace Museum (Octavia Hill was was one of the founders of the Trust), the National Trust's Peckover House and Gardens, the Yacht Harbour, Parks, Brewery, Guided Tours.

WELNEY WETLAND CENTRE

The Wetland Conservation charity in Welney, is just 10 minutes from the Farmhouse. Lots of wide open space and fresh air while you explore the wetlands that are bursting with nature. Again, pre-booking is currently required at the Centre.  

LEISURE ACTIVITIES

Given our Fenland location, there is plenty of countryside to explore, as well as a host of other leisure activities including fishing, golf, canoeing, kayaking, barge hire and river trips. Wisbech has a cinemas, leisure centres and an indoor climbing and bouldering venue, Fenrock. 

ELY

The second smallest City in England has plenty on offer - a magnificent Cathedral, beautiful architecture, waterside cafes and restaurants, river tours, antique shopping, markets, parks and open spaces and, on the outskirts of the City, Ely Leisure Village comprising a sports club, Cinema, various restaurants and drive-thrus.  

SANDRINGHAM ESTATE

The beloved Country retreat of Her Majesty the Queen, Sandringham is a truly wonderful place to visit - the House and Gardens, and Royal park along with its brand new adventure playground.

Tickets to visit the House and Gardens must be booked in advance, however it is free to visit the Royal Park.

COAST

The closest beach is only 45 minutes away and if you fancy exploring a little further, the North Norfolk coast is simply stunning. 

NORFOLK LAVENDER 

A long-established business in the heart of the West Coast of Norfolk. There is plenty to do at Norfolk Lavender - visit lavender and herb gardens, plant centre, oil distillery, tea room and animal garden, as well as various shops. 

GOLF

For any keen golfers, there are a few courses nearby: Tydd St Giles Golf & Country Club, Eagles Golf Centre (this facility also offers DiscGolf and FootGolf, so is great for families!) and Thorney Golf Centre on the outskirts of Peterborough. Stow Bardolph Rare Breeds Farm

A lovely place to visit with the children. Not only are there animals, but you can take a tractor ride, explore the gardens and nature walks, watch pig racing, outdoor play equipment with sunken trampolines, giant undercover sandpit, hay barn, indoor Treehouse area and separate toddler play area, tea room, gift shop, you can also hire party space.

With Covid restrictions currently in place, you need to book tickets in advance via their website www.churchfarmstowbardolph.co.uk. Approx 20 mins by car.
